Penn State Great Valley to host Chester County Techstars Startup Weekend on May 31
Your idea in 54 hours!
On May 31 thru June 2, 2019, the PSGV REV-UP Center of Entrepreneurship will partner with the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center at West Chester University and the Ideas x Innovation Network (i2n), an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council, to bring an immersive weekend-long event to challenge participants to build a business in 54 hours.
The weekend kicks off that Friday evening when participants hear 60-second pitches on potential new products and services. Teams will form around topics of interest, and with the help of mentors and coaches, develop a prototype for a viable product. By Sunday, each team will have five minutes to present their ideas to judges.
The weekend includes workshops, guest speakers and networking opportunities. “This is a great opportunity for students and members of the community to get a real, hands-on experience of starting a company form the ground up,” said James Nemes, chancellor and chief academic officer of Penn State Great Valley.
