History, Mission and Vision Statements
In order to enrich Pennsylvania’s economic development, Keystone Innovation Zones (KIZs) were created. As a unit, and within a geographically defined ‘zone’, educational institutions, economic developers, businesses, capital sources, and community leaders join together to implement an effective network of resources for startup companies in innovative industries.
New jobs result through the advancement of these entrepreneurial organizations, stimulating both economic and social growth throughout the state.
In March 2012, the Chester County KIZ and the Delaware County KIZ consolidated to form the Ideas x Innovation Network (i2n), now a Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) initiative. i2n represents the resources group established to support the innovative, entrepreneurial companies in Chester and Delaware Counties.
To make southeastern PA the best possible place for early-stage and technology-driven companies to start, grow, and thrive.
Through the work of i2n, our region’s entrepreneurs, innovators, and startups have the connections, knowledge, and funding necessary to become successful, commercially viable enterprises and there by make a positive impact on society and our regional economy.
